Details:
I was working around the yard behind my house when I noticed this glorious inverted rainbow in the sky. The conditions that day over Virden Illinois were high thick hazy cirrus clouds that still allowed a significant amount of sunlight to penetrate to the ground. These clouds must be full of ice crystals to be hit by the sun which by standard time was around noon to produce a brilliant rainbow display, I quickly grabbed my iphone and took several photographs.
