Details:
I managed to get out to my observatory this past new moon weekend and the clouds cleared long enough to get a lovely wide field photo of Mars in the constellation of Cancer near the Beehive star cluster also know as M44. Mars is now really small in the eyepiece of a 10inch telescope as it’s well over 1.5AU away from us, but you can still just see the polar ice cap and some makings on the planets surface ☺ ☺ ☺
The wide field image was taken with a Canon 70D camera and Canon 70-200 f2.8 lens attached to the top of a tracking telescope, 20x2minute images with ISO 1250 were captured, stacked in DSS and processed in PS....The Mars image was taken with Meade 10inch LX200 telescope and ZWO ASI 120Mc planetary camera with 3x Barlow lens attached.
