Details:
Last night I was out aurora hunting again in Raippaluoto, Finland on the 20th of April 2025 and I wasn’t really expecting anything big. This outburst of auroras came as a complete surprise considering the NOAA satellite data did not indicate any major change in the solar wind other than a southernly Bz -value of -9. Nonetheless this sparked very bright auroras with a corona of fast pulsating auroras forming overhead. My parked car got to be the lucky star of the last photo. :)
