the planet was captured in the morning sky, 3 weeks after inferior conjunction; the illuminated phase has thickened to 13.5% and its size has fallen below 50" arc. In about eleven more days Venus will attain maximum illuminated surface, so maximum brightness too. Newt 8", equatorial layout S up, W left
