Details:
On the second evening after the moon crossed in front of the sun, it was visible on the western horizon as the most slender crescent of reflected sunlight. The full orb of the moon reflected earth's daylight giving it the appearance of a dusky ball in the sky. I have never seen the moon at its earliest phase before this moment. Glorious beginning to a new month!
