Details:
This image of the waning gibbous moon shows the Reiner Gamma lunar swirl. The inset shows a detailed image of the feature taken by the NASA LRO/LROC imaging system. The single-shot image was taken remotely using the iTelescope T59 Planewave (0.51-m f/6.8 reflector + CCD) telescope located at Siding Spring Observatory Australia - MPC Q62. An H-alpha filter was used to attenuate the bright reflected sunlight off the moon to bring out more details.
