Details:
On 03-02-25 I imaged the Blue Ghost 1 landing area. Blue Ghost has now landed near a volcanic feature called Mons Latreille within Mare Crisium, a large basin located in the northeast quadrant of the Moon’s near side (when observing the Moon from Earth’s northern hemisphere). Formerly an ancient asteroid impact site, Mare Crisium was created by volcanic eruptions that flooded the basin with basaltic lava about 3 billion years ago. This unique landing site will allow Firefly’s payload partners to gather critical data about the Moon’s regolith, geophysical characteristics, and the interaction of solar wind and Earth’s magnetic field. For more information about the Blue Ghost can be seen on this link https://fireflyspace.com/missions/blue-ghost-mission-1/ My setup was an EdgeHD 14" 2X Barlow Player One Solar Camera Apollo-M MAX USB3.0 Mono Camera IMX432 with a Baader Red Filter all on an AP1600GTO mount. Kind Regards To ALL :-)
