Details:
It was magical. After a long drought I caught them again. The jump in density and solar wind speed at around 3pm caught my attention. When the IMF flipped from almost directly pointing north to south, and stayed there, I figured that since we are close to equinox, this nearly perpendicular IMF will do more with less! Kp only 4 but a beautiful dance on the northern horizon from latitude 42 made me smile. The key to catching distant auroras from mid latitudes is near perfect horizon. And that HPI in 90s helps, too.
