Details:
Mars in two different oppositions: the nice 2020 one with Mars close to us and rather high in the sky and in the good Autumn seeing, and the 2025 one, with a much smaller Mars, well placed high up in the sky, but in Winter weather with poor seeing. Note the many differences in details, as all images were acquired with the same optics (355 mm Newtonian). Also, note the different poles the planet was showing to us, with the North Pole being the one shown for us in 2025, while the South Pole was shown in 2020. I've selected the images to show the same areas for both oppositions, with the upper row being acquired in good seeing, while the bottom row being acquired in fair to good seeing.
