Details:
On Friday 24th January, heavy rain cleared during the afternoon to be followed by a colorful volcanic sunset with twilight arch and crepuscular rays. This was the first of the year and occurred just over three years after the massive Hunga-Tonga volcanic eruption on 15th January 2022 ejected a huge volume of volcanic aerosols into the stratosphere which have been responsible for a diminishing frequency and intensity of Southern Hemisphere volcanic sunrises and sunsets since then. The first Hunga-Tonga volcanic sunset to be observed in Mutare was on 22nd January 2022 (https://spaceweathergallery2.com/indiv_upload.php?upload_id=181824) so this is a fortuitous third anniversary display! Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode.
