Details:
The tail of Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) continues to shine brightly. Once astronomical twilight had ended, I was able to discern 15 degrees of tail from the 'head' over to bright Fomalhaut, with the naked eye. I set up by the iconic, derelict swing bridge at Opiki on the Manawatu River for my 4th comet over that bridge in 21 years. 2025.01.27 09.26 U.T. (10.26 p.m. N.Z.D.T.) Three shot panorama of the Opiki Bridge with a 50mm lens @ f/2.8. 6 seconds on ISO 6400. 2025.01.27 09.25 U.T. 50mm @f/2.8. 6 seconds on ISO 6400. 2025.01.27 09.19 U.T. 135mm @ f/3.5. 10 seconds on ISO 10,000. 2025.01.27 09.16 U.T. 400mm @f/6.3. 10 seconds unguided on ISO 10,000.
