The Comet ATLAS (C/2024 G3) is surprising everyone in the southern hemisphere. I do not think I have seen a comet as beautiful as this one since Hale-Bopp in 1997. This is my first astrophotograph of the year and it begins in sublime fashion: an encounter between me and a distant traveler from the outer Solar System at the summer twilight in Brazil. For the image, I used a Canon EOS 6D, Samyang 135mm f2 ED UMC at f2.8, ISO 200 and exposure time of 4s. Thanks to my wife Fabíola Gomes for the shot.
