Details:
The first Full Moon of the year had risen together with Mars; but it was only just before setting that they from Italy almost brushed against each other: if in some parts of the world they were able to witness the occultation, even such a close conjunction is loaded with fascination. Here they are-now farther away-between the colors of the Venus Belt and the Earth's shadow. Their encounter also reveals an important fact: a planet is so close to the Full Moon or rises and sets in the Venus Belt only when it is very close to its opposition. And at dawn that night there were both situations. Observing and filming them at that time then is one of the most beautiful ways to observe and say with one shot, "Mars is in opposition again." If it happens every year with the gas giants, among the rocky planets only Mars can rise and set together with the Moon and only once every two years. More video on my website
