Details:
The full Cold Moon of December seen from the town of Cody Wyoming USA has a special local quality. It sets at sunrise on Mooncrest peak on Cody's northwest skyline , the apex of Pat O'Hara Mountain. It's become a marker for the Winter Solstice. I wait for each year's apparition to do a landscape of this setting, usually with the Red Butte outcrop of red Chugwater sandstone for a foreground . This year the sunrise was muted and cloudy. What is really lamentable is because of drought conditions / climae change there is very little snowpack on the Absaroka Mountains. Nikon D5300 dslr with Nikkor 70-200mm ED-G zoom set to about 240 mm eq. focal length . Exposure was 1/1250th sec at f/5.6 ISO 1600 and color balance set to slightly warm. Perceptual Saturation applied using Nik plugin to Affinity Photo. Size reduced to 2K resolution from 20x30 inch original JPEG
