Details:
It's that gray time of year around here - still technically Autumn but more like Winter. I think Kurt Vonnegut called this "locking season" (as opposed to "unlocking season" when Winter shifts into Spring.
I was surprised to see unexpected rings of color in the cloud cover around the Sun as snow flurries drifted through the bare trees.
