Details:
Drought and continuously clear skies--unheard of in October in the northeast!--enabled us to follow the comet from its best evening appearances ca. Oct 10-11 thru to last night, 10/26. Now a mag 5-6 object that one can find amid the NYC skyglow only in digital cameras. Images here show the dramatic change since 10/20. Most recent image, 10/26, is at 400mm f4, ISO 800, 5 secs: just a smudge. Others show the wonderful tail even from NYC (after crude digital processing): 10/20, 4secs; 10/21, 4secs; 10/22, 2.5 secs. All these at 270mm ISO 640. Unguided. Looking fwd to our next bright comet!
