Quite simply...wow!
I've been recording my local geomagnetic environment for several years and last night here in the UK I was treated in my backyard to both a G4 geomagnetic storm AND the Aurora Borealis. A rare treat, indeed given the need for clear skies during the G4 event. Attached are my magnetometer data and a photo taken at around 10:00 pm local time (21:00 UTC).
