Details:
The predicted G4-G5 geomagnetic storm did not disappoint here in Cody Wyoming near the 45th parallel. Two separate pulses of bright red-green auroras occurred, two hours apart. The first was clouded out but interesting , being backlit clouds pulsing. The second pulse was somewhate weaker but appeared in more clear skies. I photographed the display over downtown Cody Wyoming from a hillcrest near the center of town. Nikon D5300 dslr using a Tokina 11-16mm ATX zoom set to a focal length of 19mm eq. Exposure was 8 seconds and f/4 using ISO 1000 ; Auto white balance. Post processed in Graphic Converter to reduce image size to 4K and open dark shadow values a little without affecting the auroras.
