Details:
The amazing October 10 2024 aurora faded by 2:28 am October 11th, but the purple persisted much of the night, and to add to it, a Southern Taurid fireball, one of my best meteors of 2024. The Southern Taurids will peak October 14 2024 so bright ones are appearing. The fading purple of the aurora is still visible after a bright outburst early the prior evening. The scene is north over the Catalina foothills in Tucson. In addition to this fireball I caught another Taurid and two nice Orionids..... quite the night.
