Details:
On the evening of Tuesday October 8th, the setting Sun with the large Sunspot AR3848 was observed reaching the flank of Murahwa Mountain foothill in Mutare. There was sufficient thin cloud and atmospheric haze for AR3848 and some other sunspots to be visible in the viewfinder of the camera without the need for a solar filter. A close-up sequence of 42 consecutive still images were captured between 19.41 and 19.43 UT (5.41 and 5.43 pm local time) and these were used to produce the accompanying colourful time-lapse animation and montage. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode. This is a repeat submission because the animated GIF in the original did not display properly.
