Details:
I never could have imagined taking a photo of the northern lights over NYC, but this dream came true for me on Oct 8, 2024 at 1:04am during one of the two auroral substorms that night! Only a very faint red/pink glow was visible; I only knew it was time to shoot because of the GOES magnetometer and seeing other people posting bright, colorful auroras in towns at similar latitudes. I just pointed my camera and crossed my fingers. I'm so happy with how it turned out. My heart is so full today. Canon G1X Mark II 1s, f/2.0, ISO 400
