Details:
Substorm of northern lights rippling beneath a fainter SAR arc last night from Wupatki National Monument. I was setting up the camera, middle of the road, planning to capture the really faint SAR Arc structure across the road. My eyes were trying to dark adapt after jumping out of the car and then I looked up to realize the sky was glowing red above the hillside with subtle pillars slowly shifting around. That makes the third time seeing aurora visually with structure and color from Arizona this year. It's been a great solar maximum.
