Details:
2024 Oct 6, 23:49 UTC, Canon 5D IV, 20mm Sigma, ISO 1600, +1 ev, f/2.2, 13s. It was a weak visual aurora with its best phase in the 15 minutes before midnight (UTC). View over the Baltic Sea near Heiligendamm, on the left on the horizon a glimmer of light from Denmark, probably Gedser/Falster, a good 40km away. On the right the roadstead of Rostock. The 'Aurora Forecast' (Oval) at spaceweather.com was actually useful here, and confirmed that in my area from around 80/90 GW I can still risk 30 minutes of driving time an hour after local midnight.
