Having misses every solar eclipse, wether partial, annular, total, I've missed them all. So todays partial eclipse here in Hawaii (Oct. 2nd), I was determined to somehow witness, if only through a camera viewfinder. Clouds! Yep, a whole slow moving bank of clouds. Only though partial gaps though the thinner cloud layers could one occasion see something bright. As the maximum slowly passed, cloaked in clouds, I figured time to pack it in. The locations sprinklers had already misted me and my camera so why not wait it out a little longer. At just about 25min past maximum, there was a small window through the densest of the cloud layer. There though the clouds was a fusion powered Pac-Man, the solar was real eclipse, I finally saw my first solar eclipse.
