These photos were taken back in May. It was my birthday, and I had a lovely day spent with my daughter, just as we were heading to bed at 11.30 I got a red alert on my phone. Neither of has seen the auroras before, but we decided to jump in the car and go to a local spot we knew had a good view of the dark sky. We were not disappointed.
What an amazing birthday surprise this was. It was like we were in the aurora and not just watching it from afar. I would love to know more about the formation we saw and the colours. Because i had never seen anything like this.
