Details:
Comet 130P/McNaught-Hughes shows a nice tail 7 arc minutes long at a position angle of 253 degrees from the comet's coma. The comet was magnitude 14.7 on this night. The comet is in an area of the night sky with background dust and gas in our galaxy which accounts for the variation of colors in the image sky background. The comet was only moving at 5 arc seconds per hour as seen from Earth on this night which allowed for the long integration time of 1200 seconds to see the faint comet and its tail in this wide field of view image with a very small scope and camera.
