Details:
On Thursday 5th September, three x20 speed time-lapse video clips were obtained of the 5.5% illuminated 3-day old Waxing Crescent moon descending in bright volcanic sunset sky between 5.52 and 5.58 pm. Venus first became visible at 6.02 pm followed by the Virgo star Porrima close by at 6.09 pm. As the light faded all three were captured descending towards the summit of Murahwa Mountain in an animation produced from 142 consecutive four second exposure images taken between 6.22 and 6.49 pm. The moving lights that appear below are from traffic descending and ascending the Christmas Pass Highway. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset and manual exposure modes.
