Details:
Surveillance cameras did all the work while I slept but I doubt this would have been visible to the unaided eye. A red/pink glow on the Northern horizon showed up on camera for most of the night. The main action occurred around 6:30 UT to 7:30 UT with a few pillars and a brightening of the featureless glow. See my video for a timelapse of the event. https://youtu.be/xJ4WztacEvk
