Details:
It is the time of year when the galactic center is poised at the meridian as evening twilight fades. Set up at Big Meadows, Shenandoah National Park to gain some hands on experience with a new Canon R5. Didn’t follow the advice of a night sky photography book author- I failed to set infinity focus and gaffer tape it in place during daylight when there were objects to focus on. Ain’t easy when your subject is very dim in the dark of night. 59 degrees at 3500 ft was a pleasant change from the mid Atlantic heat wave. Canon R5 30 sec exposures F2.8 wide open, 24-70 EF iso 1600 to 3200.
