Was treated to an incredible display of Aurora while out watching the Perseids in Montauk, NY. I've only seen aurora once before and even though I knew there was a chance to see them this night, it was one the most amazing moments of my life under the sky staring up. Actually, I lost it and was hysterical cyring! Pretty awesome to watch the whole show from start to finish. I could swear I saw a 'sky flash' and soon after the auroras appeared. Don't know what that was about. A fireball behind me or maybe nothing beyond the beach chair i was sitting in. The show peaked out with what kinda looked like STEVE. No picket fence clearly discernible, just pillars and the green fuzzy buttom with dark patches. Started a little after 2am and lasted a little more than an hour. I forgot I was watching a meteor shower a few times it was so impressive and captivating. I would then be reminded when I saw a Perseid through the lights. Such an awesome moment...one I will cherish for the rest of my life <3
