Details:
Here is a rare Green and Blue Flash of a planet, Venus. This is what it looked like on 11 and 12 August 2024 as it approached the horizon: its light continuously split into several parts, which then merged and faded from yellow to green and blue. While in the 11 August video I was able to follow the planet up to a few degrees from the horizon, the following day I was able to follow it up to the horizon line, located at -0.5°. It followed the slanting course of the top of a mountain shrouded in dense mist, fortunately never disappearing until it reached a thin layer of clear sky above the horizon, where it gave a beautiful Green Flash behind the horizon, with the horizon still visible and in the company of some rotating wind turbines. The images are frames of two videos visible on my webpage taken with an 18″ dobson, at 95x and with a Huawei p30 pro.
