Aurora photographed from the south of England at 51.42 deg North, early on 12 August 2024.
These photos taken at 0048, 0050 and 0102 BST (UTC+1) have had the photo image levels enhanced in Photoshop Elements to enhance contrast and adjust brightness to make the detail clearer. In reality the aurora was mainly a photographic event and mostly not visible to the eye, but I did just discern a faint hint of red around the peak of the display at the time of these photos. The last (and cropped) picture at 0102 BST shows the aurora and a perseid meteor.
