Details:
Although I could smell smoke heavy in the air Thursday night (7-25), the aurora was strong enough to punch through. After capturing the last image in a series of 6-shots for a panorama, I was elated to see a SAR arc on the western edge of the auroral oval. Unfortunately, I had a bit of technical difficulties with my other camera that had the 14mm lens on it, so was only able to capture the SAR with a 20mm lens before moonshine began to wash out the colors. Taken in Glidden, WI. 7-26-24. Shot with a Canon R6 mark II, Sigma 20mm, six single images stitched in Lr. Each single image was shot at iso 6400, f1.8, 5 seconds.
