Details:
Moderately bright emerald green airglow ripples all night last night until washed out by moonrise at 2:30 am. The ripples and green hue were barely detectable to the unaided eye, so it was probably not as strong as the last event a few nights ago, though still an absolute delight to behold. The airglow ripples seemed to stack up and be denser to the north. It looked like a faint whitish light with a touch of green hue - similar to a faint aurora to my unaided eyes. The Kp index had just reached G1 storm levels, but I did not see any pink color to the north. There was infrequent lightning to the east, and the rays of airglow seemed to extend from east to west, like spokes on a bicycle rather than like water ripples spreading outward from a dropped stone. In past experiences, the ripples have drifted overhead from south to north, but I did not check the direction of flow this time. SQM readings were 21.3 MSAS which is about 0.2-0.4 MSAS lower (brighter) than I would expect.
