Details:
It was cloudy in my location for the great geomagnetic storm of May 10+, 2024. I got nostalgic and looked up some photos I took in California of the powerful geomagnetic storm on October 30, 2003. I remembered a unique feature of this storm was an orange-colored aurora, which appeared after the initial red burst. The data images show the beginning of the CME impact, which motivated me to hit the road and look for a good spot to setup. Both photographs are looking West. The display started around 12:30am PT and lasted about 8 minutes. -35mm Nikkor f/1.4, 45 sec -Kodak EPL 400X reversal film
