This is what I saw when in LIVE recording mode. The atmosphere was very turbulent and very cloudy skies. It became a waiting game to find holes in the clouds. On 05-11-24 I imaged AR3664 from my Manorville NY Observatory. This Behemoth Monster Sunspot AR3664 unleashed its biggest solar flare yet, sparking radio blackouts on Earth. AR3664 is massive! It is ~124,000 miles wide, the size of 15 Earth diameters, and has been in the news all week. My imaging configuration was an ASTRO-PHYSICS 155mm f7 Starfire EDF - 6.1" aperture (155EDF) refractor that I added in front of the telescope main optical lens AstroSolar PHOTOFILM ND= 3.8 " Not for visual viewing with an eyepiece at all because you are risking your eyesight! Camera use ONLY at all times. The image camera was the Apollo-M MAX USB3.0 Mono (IMX432). and a Baader 7.5nm Solar Continuum Filter 1.25". I stacked two Balows Tele Vue 5x POWERMATE and an ASTRO-PHYSICS 2x Convertible Barlow. Kind Regards To ALL 🙂
