Details:
I was at an event at the Joshua Tree Astronomy Arts Theater, and the first we saw of the aurora was photos on peoples cell phones. The aurora was faint visually but at times had 'rays' extending well above the Northern horizon. A couple times red color could be visually seen in the brightest portions. A fairly sharp 'border' to the display was photographed overhead, with faint aurora often covering about half the sky. It was more of a photographic than visual aurora but an amazing thing to experience.
