The forecast Severe Geomagnetic Storm G5 did not disappoint. The last time I saw an aurora display like this from my home in Wyoming near the 45th parallel was at least 25 years ago. Epic auroras. "Three Photog Night " ... my three photographer friends on the aspghalt runway of an RC model airport a few miles from Cody Wyoming , looking north towards iconic Heart Mountain . The auroras were very dynamic...shooters, curtains, lots of pulsing and flashing. At one point about 90 percent of the entire dome of the sky was full of auroras. Amazing. Nikon D5300 dslr with Tokina ATX 11-16mm zoom set to eq. of 24mm. Exposure at ISO 6400 was 5 secs. at f/5 . I briefly painted each photographer with an LED flashlight.
