Details:
After several hours pouring over cloud maps and clear sky charts and seeing that Stafford was going to be 100% cloud cover with rain, I determined my best shot at seeing the northern lights for 2 Hour drive to McCormicks gap overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway just outside of Staunton. I never thought I’d see naked eye Aurora in Virginia.These are my best shots from spending two hours there, at the tail end of the KP9 storm.
