Details:
While observing the night sky outside San Pedro de Atacama, in the Atacama Desert, we noticed an etheral cloud appear where none should be, similar in size to the Large Magellanic Cloud, but in the sky on the opposite side of the Milky Way. The cloud had the appearance of a satellite fuel dump to us, but given that it was visible at about 10:30 local time (GMT -4) and it was illuminated by the sun, it had to be at high altitude above the earth.
