Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks at Perihelion in its 71 year orbit, 72 million miles from the Sun and 149 million miles from Earth on 2024 April 21 0301UT was magnitude G=4.4 as calculated from 8x15s images taken thru a green filter in an aperture diameter of 10'. The comet is getting closer to the horizon each evening at 8PM (0300UT) as twilight is getting brighter and by the end of the month 12P will no longer be observable from Tucson.
