Details:
I'm not superstitious otherwise I wouldn't have traveled to my 13th total solar eclipse viewing from which I just returned yesterday. It was one of my most exciting because we didn't know if we would be clouded out at totality. We were observing near Killeen/Texas. On the morning of April 8, the sky was completely overcast. But as the day progressed, the clouds slowly cleared. The light cirrus clouds gave us little cause for concern, only thick cumulus clouds made us worry until the last minute. Totality was slightly affected by the occasional passage of translucent clouds, but we were able to enjoy all phases well. 13 - a lucky number :-)
