Details:
Twice a year, if the weather is clear on 16th April or 27th August, the Sun viewed from my house in Murambi East can be seen setting in the middle of the Christmas Pass gap. The April sunset is more difficult to photograph as the Sun is either obscured by late rainy season cloud or, if not, shines so brightly through crisp autumn air that detail is lost in glare. On this occasion there was no cloud and sufficient haze to allow the sun not to be obscured by its own glare as it set in the centre of the Pass. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode.
