12P/Pons-Brooks @ 2024 April 1, 19:50 UT On April 1, 2024, was the last day I could image the comet 12P/Pons-Brooks from my observatory under bright periurban skie (Bortle Scale 6), with it located only 12° above the horizon and still amidst the evening twilight. Despite being limited to just 8 minutes of total exposure time using LRGB filters, the comet, shining at magnitude 4.2, was bright enough to reveal its ion tail with intricate details of wavy jets, which I endeavored to emphasize during post-processing. Telescope TS-Photon 8" N f/3.6 Mount SkyWatcher EQ6R-Pro Camera Atik 383L+ Exposure 8 min. (L=5x60 bin1 + RGB=1x60 bin2) Processed with PixInsight From Vallés, Valencia (Spain)
