Well it finally happened, the eclipse I've been looking forward to for the last 8 years. We spent over 2,250 miles and 30 hours on the road driving and it was worth every mile. We were set up in a small field in Poplar Bluff, MO with a group of people and we all counted down the final moments as the moon covered the sun and saw totality and it was the best thing I've ever seen in my life. We saw all the street lights turn on as the 360 degree sunset appeared and saw stars and planets in the sky, including one just to the bottom right of the eclipse. The countless photos I've seen before this point can't even compare to what we saw. These photos are taken from just a 300 dollar setup including the Canon Rebel T100 with a Opteka 500mm Telescope lens which I posted images here before using that same setup. Here's a small breakdown of each image attached to this post: |
| First & Second images: Taken by the Canon Rebel T100 with a Opteka 500mm Telescope lens. |
| Third image: Taken by one of the phones we had set up which shows the eclipse and the planet on the bottom right |
| Final image: Since i didn't have enough money to get a 360 camera i decided to use my baseball trophy as a way to try to capture the 360 sunset around us. Didn't turn out the way i wanted but still better than nothing. |
| I do have more images and even videos but sadly with the photo and storage limits, I can't share them here and I dont have my own website to share those images & videos.
Overall I'm glad I got to see this eclipse and hopefully I get to see the next one, this kind of event is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
