April 8 Eclipse Climatology Report for Albany, Missouri (2014-2023)
Even though the solar eclipse coming up on April 8, 2024, will NOT be total in Albany, Missouri, I thought that I would go back through my years of camera records to evaluate this important day to see what my chances of viewing the eclipse would be. I think that my results would also apply to Southern Missouri as well where there is a small strip where the eclipse will be total.
This image is a composite of what are called Keograms. I won’t go into too much depth on keograms but they are an excellent record of the sky conditions and are often used for studies such as this. These Keograms record onto an image the sky conditions seen above Albany, Missouri for an entire day (in this case April 8 during the years 2014 through 2023.
