Today was finally a day steady enough to hi-res solar image. That does not happen very often this time of year. While watching sunspot complex 3413/14/17/20 on the monitor, it suddenly flared! I was able to record at max flare image plus a before and after image for comparison. Later, when I looked it up, I had imaged an X2.8 flare.....the strongest of cycle 25! What luck! It is the first day since November that I have solar imaged at high resolution. 127mm f/9.4 refractor, Quark C/Lunt tilt-tune double stack filter, ASI174mm camera.
