Details:
It was a struggle finding clearish skies over Aberdeenshire on Saturday evening, and in the end I decided to head to Deeside where the weather models were predicting at least a chance of breaks early on. In the end I was lucky enough to catch probably the most active hour of this G2 aurora, with colours visible to the eye as rays extended overhead, what an incredible sight. As you can see from the images I was also lucky enough to catch a bright slow moving meteor through the auroral rayed band as the aurora was building. The meteor shot was taken at 1812 UTC, with the rest of the images around 1830 UTC.
