Lemmon, which is currently seen in the constellation Hercules, passed through perihelion (the closest position to the Sun) on October 29, 2023. At that time, its distance from the Sun was 0.89 AU (134.1 million km.) and its distance from the Earth was 0.38 AU (58.2 million km). Its period was calculated as 3,830 years. Its brightness was determined as magnitude 6.4 and its orbital speed was determined as 43.85 km/second. It will pass 0.193 AU (28.891 million km.) from the closest point to the Earth on 11.11.2023 (00:01 UT). It reached a brightness that could be seen with binoculars from a dark place away from city lights.
