Details:
A perfect evening for starwalking. I set up on the cliffs above Buffalo Bill Reservoir in northwest Wyoming USA to observe the 4-day old crescent Moon in Scorpius push Antares over the southwest horizon in the late twilight. Full darkness brought out the Sagitarrius starclouds at the core of the galaxy. I captured this frame just as the last remnant of the Moon was visible. Viewing conditions were perfect ( still 60° F after dark ) and the lack of even a slight breeze was unusual for normally windy Wyoming. I'll take it. Nikon D5300 dslr with an old Nikkor 24mm manual lens ... 25 secs. at f/2.8 using ISO 1600
